On 16 Dec 84 this Convair suffered an engine failure and caught fire and made an emergency landing at Bevill Field in Jasper, AL. Upon landing the main tires blew out and directional control was lost and the Convair exited the runway and ran through a ditch destroying the Convair. There were a total of 34 passengers and 5 crew on board, all survived with little or no injuries reported.
